The Systems Development and Improvement Research Alliance (SDIRA) focuses on educational systems and their processes at the school, district, and state levels. The purpose of SDIRA is to assist educators with examining and improving educational systems, as well as conducting research on such systems.

Research Questions

  • What are the key elements of an effective fidelity tool for multi-tiered system of supports?
  • What strategies or approaches can districts provide to schools that are not meeting academic standards with certain student populations?
  • How are states measuring achievement gaps and achievement outcomes in their accreditation systems?
  • How can states evaluate system improvement efforts?
  • What policies are in place in each of the 50 states related to state intervention with chronically underperforming schools?
  • What is the range of ways in which states have intervened in chronically underperforming schools?
