College and Career Readiness Research Alliance

REL Central is excited to announce that we expanded our Common Core Research Alliance. Our new research alliance, College and Career Readiness will support states and districts with technical assistance and research as they help ensure our students graduate from high school prepared to enter the workforce and/or postsecondary or technical education program.

Research Questions

  • What policies or programs do states have in place that might facilitate or hinder the implementation of competency-based education in schools and districts?
  • What instructional models can teachers use as they implement competency-based educational practices?
  • How accurately can teachers judge students’ attainment of educational competencies?
  • What are the essential characteristics of an effective career and technical education program?
  • How can information on postsecondary readiness, progress, and success be measured and used to improve educational policy and practice?
  • How can information on high school rigor be assessed and used?
  • What are the appropriate career and college readiness measures for state accountability systems and how should they be implemented?
  • How can data from statewide longitudinal data systems be used to inform and improve policy and practice regarding college and career readiness?
